Spring is the time for trying new delights, and the Southern Oregon Repertory Singers serve up a concert full of them!
Considered among the finest works ever written in German, the exquisite polychoral motets of Heinrich Schütz (1585-1672) are unsurpassed for sensitivity of text and setting. Eric Whitacre’s Leonardo Dreams of his Flying Machine is a 9-minute tour-de-force work for a cappella chorus by one of the top young composers writing today; it combines Whitacre's lush harmonies with hints of the Italian Renaissance. Also included are selections from Ariel Songs by Frank Martin and the impressionistic Trois Chansons by the wonderful modern Dutch composer Henk Badings which will showcase our talented accompanist Jodi French.
