The Bach Cantata at Noble Coffee

Johann Sebastian Bach was NOT all about church music. Join members of the Southern Oregon Repertory Singers at Ashland’s Noble Coffee House for a delightful evening celebrating Bach’s secular side with performances of The Peasant Cantata and other works. The singers will be joined by musicians playing period instruments.
Begin the evening with complimentary champagne and light hors d’oeuvres. No-host coffees and desserts will be available during intermission.

Many of the western world’s foremost composers wrote what we now term ‘art songs’ – songs that depict an emotion or tell a story. Composers throughout time have written for the human voice and the ‘art song’ is often considered to be the perfect combination of poet, composer, singer and accompanist.
Spend an evening exploring this delightful genre with members of the Southern Oregon Repertory Singers at the beautiful Bohemia Art Gallery in Ashland’s Railroad District. Your ticket includes complimentary champagne and light hors d’oeuvres.
