"Singing with the Southern Oregon Repertory Singers in the B minor mass was a wonderfully joyful experience. The chorus and orchestra are first rate, Paul French an inspiration, and the music making was sublime."
Tracy Watson, Mezzo Soprano
I thought that the Oregon Repertory Singers did a beautiful and inspiring rendition of the Spring 2011 B minor Mass and it was an honor to perform with them!
Julianne Baird, soprano
Congratulations to all of you for the wonderful performance of the B Minor Mass. All I could say when it was over was WOW! and then stand up and clap until my arms ached. What a wonderful gift you gave to this Valley. Thank you. Thank you.

RUN (don't walk) to concerts conducted by Paul French. In the tradition of Robert Fountain (from Oberlin University) and Robert Shaw (the Juilliard School of Music and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra), Paul French is a master conductor, singer, mentor and great teacher...He INSPIRES the community and his students with his excellent programs which include: debuting unknown choral works, commissioning new contemporary choral pieces and featuring a yearly program on Songs of Shakespeare. Paul French is also a mentor to many students of Southern Oregon University. He researches unusual works and brings them to light for the musicians and the community. I support his work with energy, musicianship, publicity and financially. The community of adults and children are so fortunate to have Dr. Paul French here in the Rogue Valley!

The Southern Oregon Repertory Singers do something rare among choral groups: they make you pay deep attention to the meaning in the music. They give their audiences something that goes beyond just the notes and the words on the page; they draw the listener in and make him or her want to get even closer. I hear joy when this group sings: joy in the text, joy in the harmonies, joy in being part of a larger whole. And the group seems to take as much pleasure in bringing new music to life as it does in working its way into classics such as Duruflé's sumptuous Requiem or the guilty pleasures of vocal jazz ... I'm very grateful for the energy and commitment the singers brought to learning my Shakespeare songs. All composers should have the chance to write for a group like this; I've been very lucky. And the singers approach new music with just such verve. I am very grateful to Paul French and his choral community for their heartfelt welcome and for the richness of their music-making.

Several years ago we went to all the choral group concerts in the Rogue Valley and found that the Southern Oregon Repertory Singers is definitely our favorite. As a result we attend all of SORS concerts and have become financial supporters of the group as well. How fortunate we are to have this fine talent in our area.

Thank you, Dr. French and all the members for a wonderful concert last Sunday. You are my favorite singing group in the Valley. It was so good to see the Recital Hall filled. Thank you also for your work with the choral groups in the high schools. These students are the next generation of SORS and the audiences.
